Ball State’s Gender Through Comics course starts April 2 and you still have time to enroll. The Massive Open Online Course is free although there are required reading materials that have to be purchased. You can see the syllabus here.

The course is designed by Christina Blanch of Ball and will feature guests including Terry Moore, Gail Simone, Kelly Sue DeConnick and Mark Waid.

There are over 5000 people enrolled in the course including me. I’m looking forward to it!

Earth’s auroras are created by charged particles from the sun interacting with our atmosphere, but they’re not just earthly phenomenon—Saturn and Jupiter have their own, although they’re not created in the same way. Jupiter spins on its axis once every 10 hours, dragging its magnetic field around to create a crackling swirl of electricity of over 10 million volts at both of its poles. Then charged particles of oxygen and sulfur shoot from Jupiter’s volcanic moon, Io, and interact with this storm of electricity, sparking a spectacular light show. Jupiter’s auroras are like Earth’s on asteroids—they’re 100 times brighter than ours, they never stop, and they’re so big they could envelop our entire planet. But auroras don’t just stop at our solar system—researchers have now found evidence of polar lights on alien planets orbiting distant stars. Using the Low-Frequency Array radio telescope based in the Netherlands, the researchers observed radio emissions they believe are caused by auroras on exoplanets. Since the emissions are powerful enough to be detectable over interstellar distances, the auroras causing them would be 100,000 times brighter than Jupiter’s. The findings suggest that these auroras are likely not formed by charged particles from solar wind—instead, the exoplanets detected so far may actually be dim, ultra-cool brown dwarfs, which are basically failed stars. Their auroras would likely behave more like Jupiter’s than Earth’s, and by studying them, researchers hope to gain insight into the exoplanets’ magnetic fields, moons, and even how they interacts with their parent star.

i went to a living naivety and old London Margret yesterday at a church it was fun i love it so what this is it i love life it is has a lot of ups and downs so i got to show stuff i go to in my blog i get it dude i am so now good so my blog is great for the events i go to now so what it is good the best thing in Americamun cab studios known as Munster cable broadcast Munster events from 1984-2007 now the town is thinking about reviving the cable channel and having a YouTube channel if the town has a YouTube channel it would be good for Munster i think local businesses and stuff should put something the town’s been losing move for 5 years on this content i get it pouting a fourth of July parade the is week in Munster Munster parks and you were some of the shows along with a bulletin board and some stuff it would be interesting to put some content for the local cable channel if the Libra and schools could put some local content it would and the parks what a good place to work and play in Munster it is good i get it we need something on the channel if its Joe talking about fitness a bike shop talking about local races churches having a channel up there to provide the content for the show or something it would be great or a web comic or a digital comic about the town it would be awesome so what is going on it is sound i love it nowthis is from the Christmas story exhibit on Kennedy avenue i love the movie maybe but i just have to blog about the exhibit i went today it was just models of the movie scenes i dint like the movie i get it for now the next one might be after the mun cab meeting mu cab studios in Munster history i will just go see the studio history in there its awesome blog i get a little local culture in here so what i love the game its very well done .
